At Peak Valley Coaching we use a multifaceted approach to improve physical, mental, and emotional health. It is important to address more than just the symptoms and understand the underlying causes of your struggles. Although Peak Valley Coaching is not a medical practice, we believe clients can learn, grow, and heal with the support and guidance of a knowledgeable coach.
Our target clientele will mainly be females who have attempted to recover from anorexia or amenorrhea, but are still struggling and need additional support and accountability. Beyond that, we want to help active females who are looking to get back into their sports and active pursuits in a healthier mind and body.
At Peak Valley we will use a variety of tools and techniques throughout the coaching process including but not limited to:
Sammi battled anorexia for 15 years. After facing years of health issues including primary amenorrhea, osteporosis, anemia, ulcerative colitis, tendonopothy/chronic pain, extreme anxiety, and insomnia, she finally decided at age 25 that it was time to seriously recover. This was not an easy decision, and the disordered thoughts and habits made it difficult to commit to recovery. But with the help of her family, partner, doctors, therapists, PTs, coaches, and a lot of mental fortitude, she overcame anorexia. It took about two years of consistent work, but finally at age 27 she restored her weight, got her first menstrual cycle, reduced her anxiety, improved her sleep, and became more flexible and capable of fully enjoying life. Now, Sammi is coaching other women to help them regain their physical and mental health.
Sammi earned her Bachelor's of Science in Exercise Science from Northern Arizona University in 2018, and then went on to earn her Master's in Education in 2021. While recovering from anorexia and amenorrhea, Sammi was also pursuing her Holistic Hypothalamic Amenorrhea Practitioner (HHAP) Certification, which she completed in 2024. She is now a certified HHAP. In the past Sammi has created nutrition plans for a registered dietician. She also designed exercise and nutrition protocols, and worked with several clients on their amenorrhea and eating disorder recovery journeys.
Sammi enjoys spending time in the outdoors, usually hiking, rockclimbing, and mountain biking. She is also a web developer and has worked on both professional and personal projects. She spends time with her partner and family, and continues to learn and grow as a person.
